1896. 1934. Lav Vigotski (rus. Lev Semёnovič Vыgotskiй; Orša, 17. novembar 1896 — Moskva, 11. jun 1934) jedan od utemeljivača sovjetske psihologije i osnivač kulturno istorijske psihologije (rus. Kulьturno-istoričeskaя psihologiя), koji je predložio sociokulturalni model mentalnog razvoja, koji odražava verovanje u socijalnu i kulturalnu osnovu individualnog razvoja u okviru istorijske perspektive.
Biografski podaci
Lav Vigotski je rođen u Oršu u Ruskoj Imperiji (današnja Belorusija). Sve do 1924. godine nije se bavio psihologijom, već književnom kritikom, teorijom književnosti i umetnosti i lingvistikom.
Postao je naučni saradinik reformisanog Intituta za psihologiju u Moskvi, gde započinje istraživanja iz kojih će razviti kulturno-istorijsku koncepciju psiholoških pojava. Uporedo sa njegovim radom, razvija se i marksistička psihologija, u delima S. L. Rubinštajna i A. N. Leontjeva.[1]
U svom prvom radu iz 1924. istražuje distinktvine psihološke karakteristike čoveka, ističući da pored ličnog postoji i istorijsko i socijalno istorijsko iskustvo, tj. kolektivna koordinacija ponašanja.
Osnovnu koncepciju o problemima svesti furmuliše u istom članku. Tokom 1928. i 1929. bavio se problemima kulturnog razvoja deteta, a smatra se daje do 1930. uobličio svoju kulturno istorijsku teoriju psiholoških pojava.
Lav Vigotski umire 1934. godine u Moskvi od tuberkuloze, ne dočekavši izlazak iz štampe svog osnovnog dela Mišljenje i govor.

Većina dela Lava Vigotskog dugo nije štampana u Sovjetskom Savezu. Tek se četrdeset godina posle smrti beleži se uspeh i jača njegov uticaj. NJegova najznačajnija dela su:
