UbiSoft Selskapet hadde opprinnelig navnet sitt stavet som to ord, ubi soft. Den kom til ved at de to brødrene Yves og Michel Guillemot begynte å produserte CD-er de behøvde til deres familiegård i Frankrike som drev landbruk.
