Walt Disney vant 12 av sine 22 Oscar-priser i kategorien beste animerte kortfilm, og er dermed, sammen med filmstudioet sitt, den mestvinnende innen denne kategorien med 15 priser og 49 nominasjoner.

Oscar for beste animerte kortfilm (engelsk: Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film) er en filmpris som utdeles av Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, til den beste animerte kortfilmen i det forrige filmår. Den har vært utdelt siden den 5. Oscar-utdelingen, og dermed dekket filmårene fra 1931–32 til i dag.

Prisen gikk under navnet «Kortfilmer, tegnet» fra 1932 til 1970, og «Kortfilmer, animerte filmer» fra 1971 til 1973. Dagens tittel fikk prisen i 1974. I listen under står prisvinneren i fete typer, med de andre nominerte under. Walt Disney fikk 12 av sine 22 priser i denne kategorien, inkludert en posthum pris i 1968. Disney vant også ti av de første elleve prisene i denne kategorien. Frem til 1952 var kun amerikanske filmer nominert i denne kategorien.

Tom og Jerry fra Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer er den mestvinnende serien, med syv priser fra 13 nominasjoner. Utenom USA er det det Canadiske filminstituttet (National Film Board of Canada) som har flest priser, med seks priser.

De 50 første årene prisen ble delt ut ble prisen overrakt produsenten, men det er senere endret til den som har øvd størst innflytelse på konsept og kreativ utførelse i filmen. Om det er flere enn én som oppfyller disse kravene kan to statuetter deles ut.[1] Akademiet definerer en kortfilm som under 40 minutter, inkludert rulletekster.[2]
