Apoptygma Berzerk på Commons

Apoptygma Berzerk er en norsk synthpopgruppe fra Sarpsborg, startet i 1989 av Stephan Groth og Jon Erik Martinsen.

Apoptygma er et gammelt, gresk ord for et stykke tøy. Gruppen slapp sin første singel Ashes To Ashes i 1991, og debutalbumet Soli Deo Gloria kom ut i 1993. Bandet ses som opphavet til sjangeren futurepop sammen med gruppen VNV Nation.

Sangen «In This Together» er med i filmen Lange Flate Ballær, når gutta kommer ut på indre bane for å fremføre dansen sin.

Fotografen Espen Ixtlan ga i 2010 ut boken Evolution has left the building... thank God!! som er en uoffisiell samling bilder av bandet fra Rocket Science-turneen i 2009.
