Analisis faktor

Analisis faktor ialah kaedah statistik digunakan untuk menerangkan kebolehubahan antara pembolehubah diperhatikan dan berkorelasi dari segi bilangan pembolehubah tidak diperhatikan yang berpotensi lebih rendah yang dipanggil faktor. Sebagai contoh, ada kemungkinan variasi dalam enam pembolehubah yang diperhatikan terutamanya mencerminkan variasi dalam dua pembolehubah yang tidak diperhatikan (dasar). Analisis faktor mencari variasi bersama tersebut sebagai tindak balas kepada pembolehubah pendam yang tidak diperhatikan. Pembolehubah yang diperhatikan dimodelkan sebagai kombinasi linear faktor potensi, ditambah istilah "ralat".
