The Dirt Gang is a 1972 American action drama film directed by Jerry Jameson and starring Paul Carr, Michael Forest, Michael Pataki, Lee de Broux, Nanci Beck, Jon Shank, Nancy Harris, T.J. Escott, and Jessica Stuart. The film was released by American International Pictures in November 1972.^[1]^[2]^[3]

Plot

Monk and three of his Dirt Gang stop off at a gas station and try to rob it. They are interrupted by a policeman and three of them flee leaving one behind. He clubs the policeman but is shot in the process. The policeman raises the alarm and the three bikers are chased in to the desert by a police car. The policeman is trapped and run over by Snake, one of the gang, and killed. They put his body in the car and set fire to it. Meeting up with the rest of the gang they decide to flee to Mexico. On route they come across a film company in the desert making a Western. They decide to stop and eat with the company before moving on.

One of the movie stuntmen is Zeno who used to be a biker. Years before he had been in a bike duel with Monk causing Monk to lose an eye. Monk had been looking for him ever since eager for a rematch in a Death Duel. They meet but Zeno has left biking and refuses to do a duel. Monk becomes obsessed with him and refuses to leave. He and his bikers cause more and more trouble to force Zeno to duel.

Mary, the script girl, is Zeno's girlfriend. Snake follows her in to the office where she is about to call the police and starts to molest her. Zeno rescues her and they flee in to the desert in a dune buggy with three bikers in pursuit. There is a high speed chase through the desert before one of the bikers jumps on to the buggy and stops it. Zeno is overpowered and taken back to the film set. He is lying unconscious on the ground with Mary tending him when Monk is given a shotgun. He points it at Zeno and is tempted to shoot him but an police car arrives and they all hide until it leaves.

The bikers and film crew go into a tent where they party and orgy together. Mary unties Zeno so that he can escape into the desert at night and go for help. Monk discovers this and they go after him before overpowering him and dragging him back along the ground with his legs tied to a bike. Back on set he is tied to a railing and forced to watch as Snake starts to molest Mary in front of him. To save her Zeno gives in to Monk and agrees to a Death Duel.

The next morning they face each other at opposite ends of the street like two gunfighters. They have chains wrapped round their arms to attack the other with. They duel and after a street fight it looks like Monk has the upper hand as he remounts his bike and charges towards Zeno. But Zeno grabs an Indian spear, which was part of the Western set, and impales Monk with it. Monk lies dead with the Dirt Gang looking on in disbelief while Zeno leaves with Mary.
