Secrets of the Gods (re-released in theatres under the title The Force Beyond in 1977)[1] is a 1977 American satirical documentary film directed by William Sachs.

The movie covers investigations of a wide variety of paranormal subjects and mysteries including UFO abductions and the possible existence of the creature known as "Bigfoot". The film mentions two mysterious disappearances that of a Tennessee farmer named David Lang in 1880 and a young English boy named Oliver Thomas in 1909. Subsequent investigations have proven that both of these incidents were fictional "urban legends".

Quotes

A lot of people took it seriously. I thought it was a satire on what people thought the secrets of the gods were, how spacemen came and made it with Bigfoot and that's what became us.

— William Sachs, article about Sachs' life[3]

Speculative "documentary" about alien visitations on Earth, UFO sightings and how aliens are responsible for pretty much every conspiracy theory, paranormal encounter and cryptozoological sighting in history.
