Games of Pixar Pier is a collection of four boardwalk games themed to several different Pixar characters. It is located in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure.
History
Paradise Pier
Games of the Boardwalk officially opened in 2001 with the rest of Disney California Adventure. Originally, the games included Boardwalk Bowl, Dolphin Derby, San Joaquin Volley, Shore Shot, Angels in the Outfield, New Haul Fishery, and Cowhuenga Pass. [1]
In 2008, with construction beginning on Toy Story Midway Mania!, many of the original were either closed or re-themed. This renovation was part of the $1.1 billion expansion project for Disney California Adventure. The new games opened on April 7, 2009 and included Goofy About Fishin', Casey at the Bat, Bullseye Stallion Stampede, and Dumbo Bucket Brigade.
Pixar Pier
The Games of the Boardwalk closed on January 8, 2018 during the re-theming of Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier.[2] During this transformation, the Games of the Boardwalk were renamed Games of Pixar Pier. They opened with Pixar Pier on June 23, 2018.
Bullseye Stallion Stampede remained. The other three games were turned into La Luna Star Catcher, WALL-E Space Race, and Heimlich's Candy Corn Toss. If Pixar Pier adds two new games, the new games will be called Boo's Whack-A-Boggs and Randall's Pineapple Whizz. Boo's Whack-A-Boggs is a Whack-A-Mole game themed to Monsters, Inc. and Randall's Pineapple Whizz is a Water shooting Race game themed to Lilo and Randall.
The sign for Boo's Whack-A-Boggs will feature Boo whacking Randall with a baseball bat and a summary of the game that will say "Help Boo overcome her fear of Randall by whacking him on the head with a mallet as many times as you can". To play Boo's Whack-A-Boggs, whack Randall on the head with a mallet as many times as you can. The player with the most hits will win the game and a Monsters, Inc. themed prize.
The sign for Randall's Pineapple Whizz will feature Randall Boggs whizzing on Pleakley's most beloved pineapple with a grossed out Pleakley and a summary of the game that will say "Uh-oh, Randall Boggs whizzed on Pleakley's most beloved pineapple". To play Randall's Pineapple Whizz, aim Randall at the target, then press the two buttons that are located on Randall's first two arms and Randall starts whizzing. The player that reached it's pineapple to the top wins the game and a Lilo and Randall themed prize.
